Last Saturday KCA had the wonderful opportunity to have six adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer survivors meet with our researchers from Randwick and Westmead to discuss their experiences during and after cancer treatment. The aim of the meeting was to assist in guiding the direction of KCA’s future AYA cancer research. The meeting also gave the young people an opportunity to ask questions of our researchers about cancer treatment and research. To finish the day, members of the Royal Navy Sailing Association (RANSA) kindly donated their time and a lovely cruising yacht to finish the day off with a late afternoon sail.
Thank you to KCA’s research members (Clarissa Schilstra, Maria Scahffer, Ursula Sanom-Daly, Sarah Ellis, Jamie Fletcher, Antoinette Anazodo, Geoff McCowage and Glenn Marshall), RANSA members and not least of all, the young people who attended.
KCA intends to continue it’s consumer engagement activities with young people and plans to also conduct a parent consumer engagement meeting in 2020. If you have any queries or contributions regarding KCA’s consumer engagement activities please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
